on Memorial Day in Boulder, Colorado.
It is one of the ten most popular races in the world, with
40524 finishers in the year 2000. The race attracts
a field of elite professional runners and wheelchair racers.
The race starts in northeast Boulder, winds through
several neighborhoods and finishes with a steep hill before
entering the University of Colorado football stadium,
where runners are greeted by the cheers of thousands of
spectators.
