Battleoid

In the computer game Master of Orion 2, by Microprose, battleoids are high-tech fighting vehicles employed for defense against invading space marines. They look like large humanoid robots similar to the mecha seen in anime. Battleoids are for defense only, as you cannot ship them between planets. For a planet to construct and maintain battleoids, it must have an armor barracks. They replace conventional armor units.

Battleoid statistics:

• Arms & Armor: Best infantry weapon & armor type that your race can build
• Combat Bonus: +20 *
• Hit Points: 3
• Required Technology: Construction ⇒ Astro Construction ⇒ Battleoids

* The manual gives the combat bonus as "10 higher than a tank". This is a rather unclear way of putting it as tanks already have a +10 combat bonus, meaning that the combat bonus of a battleoid is +20.
