The BNSF is the Burlington Northern Santa Fe, one of the largest railroads in America. Created by the merger of the Burlington Northern, a company itself the product of a merger between the Northen Pacific, Great Northern, and two other, smaller railroads, and the Atchison, Topeka, and Santa Fe. The dominant railroad in the Western United States. It's main competition is the Union Pacific.
