| There is a column in the "Seattle Weekly" (a kind of mediocre newspaper in my opinion) devoted to the "Ask an Uptight Seattleite." People write in with fairly normal advice columnist questions, although they usually seem to keep in mind that their questions will not be seriously answered, and most questions are not about relationships; many people write in wanting to know the P.C. way to go about some situation they are concerned about, or about a Seattle specific subject. The "Uptight Seattleite" columnist will write back with a snooty, ultra P.C. reply. It's poking fun at an aspect of Seattle's culture, mainly that many Seattlites are or are perceived as elitist and/or very concerned with being Politically Correct (I think that this applies mainly to the middle class population). |
