Anglia Polytechnic University

Anglia Polytechnic University was founded in 1992 when the Privy Council awarded that status to the Anglia Polytechnic. The Polytechnic had only been in existence for a year since its founding in 1991.
The University is a merger of two major colleges, the Cambridge College of Arts and Technology and the Essex Institute of Higher Education. Each of these colleges has a long, interesting and successful academic history.
