A group of small volcanic islands off the coast of Sicily (that would be in Italy for those of you who are geographically challenged). Its coolest features include Vulcano, which is due to erupt any day now and as a result, spew sulphur gases out of its crater (which makes for a nice little hike). Even more fun is Stromboli which is a small volcanically active island which has eruptions of lava 5 times a day. I suggest taking a hike up that one and camping out on the top to see an eruption first hand (although go on night when there aren't state sactioned tours up it as hiking up the volcano unsupervised is illegal). All in all, a beautiful place to spend a few days and hike around.
