Actuate: Computer-based reporting tool. Database-driven, vendor-independant, reporting tool. Design limited to Microsoft Windows, server can be on a variety of operating systems. Analysis: Decent server-side mechanics, tepid (some would say horrid) design system. Similar: If you've used Microsoft Access (Office 97, 2000, etc.) for reporting, you have the basics of Actuate report layout.
