| I cannot take my gaze away from that wide open face. He stares back, but not looking into me, merely at me, like he is sitting back and saying, "explain everything to me." But inevitably his heavy bobbing head swivels to greet the next large human face that appears. I try to get back to my work, but am constantly being caught by glimpses of blue from his bright open eyes as his head turns. I cannot look away, like I cannot look away from the television playing a baseball game at a restaurant. I hate baseball, but the tube cannot be ignored. It is even worse at home, when fighting with my SO, and the TV in the background keeps drawing my eye from her concerned angry face. A fast way to get your butt kicked, that. |
