The most
kickass 486 chip intel ever produced. The 80486DX/50 was slightly slower processor-speed-wise than the
80486DX2/66, but the increased bus speed led to overall greater system
performance. The 80486DX/50 also totally creamed the
80486DX2/50, as the latter ran at a
paltry clock speed of 25Mhz. I
overclocked mine to 66Mhz, though, and it never
faltered. The DX50 was eventually discontinued due to the fact that you could fry
bacon on it.
