?node=

It should be fairly obvious to anyone who looks at their URL occasionally, but you can easily link to an arbitary node with the format:
http://www.everything2.com/index.pl?node=node
This can be used to link to everything from slashdot, your webpage, and other places.

It should be noted that if the node title includes unusual characters, these characters should be escaped with %xx codes where xx is the hex code for the ASCII character you want.

This is similar to the
nap:search?artist=artist&title=track
format used for Napster URLs.

Other interesting CGI parameters include &lastnode_id=xxxxxx which is what keeps track of your movements from node to node, softlinking quietly behind you, and the &op=xxx which does many wonderful things such as logging you out (logout) and creating new nodes (new).

Y'know, if you log in, you can write something here, or contact authors directly on the site. Create a New User if you don't already have an account.
