/etc/netmasks

/etc/netmasks contains network masks used for IP subnetting. Each line in this file contains a network number and a network mask for use on the network.

This file is the source for the netmasks.byaddr map for those who are using NIS.

An example:

#
# netmasks
#
149.43.0.0 255.255.255.0
149.42.0.0 255.255.255.128
